Wholesale Hair Vendors
Hair Vendors in UK 2026: Price List, MOQ & 10 Suppliers Compared
Hair vendors in UK, the hair extension suppliers UK salons and shops buy from, fall into two groups: UK brands that sell from local stock through trade accounts, and overseas factories that make the hair and ship it to you. UK brands deliver next day with no import paperwork. Factories cost less per 100g at the same grade and let you choose grade, shade and label. This guide compares 10 of them on price, MOQ, hair origin, delivery and import VAT.

This guide answers the questions UK buyers ask first, then compares 10 hair vendors that UK salons, hair shops and online brands actually buy from: UK brands with their own trade programmes, international brands that ship into the UK, and factory-direct supply from Vietnam, China and Russia. We compare them on the fields that decide a wholesale order: who can open a trade account, minimum order, where the hair comes from, how fast it reaches you, and what it costs once it has cleared UK customs.
The second half is a working guide: how to deal with a hair vendor step by step, how to check that a vendor is legitimate before you send money, and the questions UK buyers ask us most. For the global picture by country of origin, see our guide to the top wholesale raw hair vendors worldwide.
What Should You Know Before Choosing Hair Vendors in UK? (Quick Answers)
Short answer: UK brands are the fastest option and need no import paperwork. Factories cost less per 100g at the same grade and let you choose grade, shade and label, but you import the goods yourself. The seven answers below cover what buyers ask first when they compare hair vendors in UK.

| # | Question | Short answer |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Is the hair genuine Remy or raw, with the cuticle intact? | Ask for it in writing. UK brands mostly sell “100% Remy” without naming the donor country. Genuine raw hair is unprocessed, cuticle-aligned and comes in single-donor, 2–3 donor or mixed-donor tiers. Run the scrape and burn tests on a sample before you scale. |
| 2 | Can it match European shades and lift to platinum? | Only if it is raw donor hair. Blonde, #613, #60 and platinum are made from raw donor hair; virgin hair is best for natural and light shades; dark shades are dyed, not lifted. |
| 3 | What does it cost per 100g? | UK trade prices sit behind a login at almost every brand. Factory-direct pricing is quoted per order by length, grade, texture and colour. Ask for the full grid, not one number. |
| 4 | What is the minimum order? | UK brands: usually no MOQ, but a trade account that needs a hairdressing qualification. Factory-direct: our bulk hair for Europe starts from 1kg, with VIP rates from 5kg. |
| 5 | How long does delivery to the UK take? | UK stock: next day. From Vietnam: express 3–5 working days, standard 5–7, economy 7–9, tracked by DHL, UPS or FedEx, plus production time. |
| 6 | Who pays import VAT and duty? | You, as the UK importer. Govihair does not pay UK import charges; we supply the commercial invoice and documents proving the origin of the goods to support your import. Import VAT is 20%. A VAT-registered business can usually reclaim it through postponed VAT accounting. You need a GB EORI number to import. |
| 7 | Which payment methods are accepted? | For Govihair: bank transfer (T/T) in USD or EUR to our company account, which you can verify on our website, or card payment via a secure payment link. Never pay into a personal account. Production starts after a 30% deposit. |
Which Hair Extensions and Wigs Do UK Salons and Hair Shops Buy Most?
“Hair vendors in UK” covers three very different buyers. Whether you need hair extension suppliers in the UK, a UK hair wholesaler or a factory for bulk human hair, the right supplier depends on which one you are.

Extension salons and mobile stylists. Tape-ins, nano and micro rings, keratin bonds and wefts, mostly in European shades: ash browns, beige and cool blondes, platinum. Colour match and consistency between reorders matter more than anything else, because a client who returns for a top-up expects the same shade. Relevant ranges: weft hair extensions, tape-in hair extensions, keratin tip hair extensions.
Afro-Caribbean hair shops and wig makers in London, Birmingham, Manchester and beyond. Bundles, closures, frontals, wigs and braiding hair in bulk, in natural black and brown, often in longer lengths. Texture depth and price per kilo drive the order. Relevant ranges: raw human hair bundles, lace closures and frontals, human hair wigs, bulk human hair for braiding.
Online brands and private-label sellers. They need custom colour, their own packaging and the same result batch after batch, so their customers never notice a change of supplier. Relevant range: our OEM and ODM service.
How Did We Compare These Hair Vendors in UK?
Every vendor below was checked against the same six criteria, using its own website and, for UK companies, Companies House (October 2026):

- Sourcing transparency. Does the vendor say where the hair comes from, or only “100% human hair”?
- Factory or reseller. Does it make the hair, process it, or buy finished stock?
- Trade access and MOQ. Who can open an account, and what is the realistic entry point?
- Price position. Premium brand, mid-market or factory-direct.
- Colour range. How well it covers the European salon palette.
- Delivery to the UK. UK stock, international express, or both.
Govihair and its sister brand YogHair are our own companies and appear first. We have listed our weaknesses as plainly as everyone else’s.
Which Hair Extension Suppliers in the UK Offer Trade Accounts, Bulk Pricing and a Low MOQ? (Comparison Table)
Of the 10 hair vendors in UK compared here, the UK-based wholesale hair suppliers (Beauty Works, Remi Cachet, Great Lengths and Halo) sell through trade or wholesale accounts with UK stock. The factories (Govihair, YogHair, KBL and Kalugahair) set a minimum order and quote bulk pricing per order.

| Vendor | Type | Base | Trade access | Hair origin stated | Delivery to UK |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Govihair | Factory-direct | Da Nang, Vietnam | Any business; bulk from 1kg | Vietnamese, raw donor and virgin lines | 3–5 / 5–7 / 7–9 working days |
| YogHair | Factory-direct, sister brand of Govihair | Vietnam | Any business; wholesale quote | Vietnamese; raw and colour lines | Express from Vietnam, tracked |
| Beauty Works | UK brand, trade and retail | Stockport area | NVQ Level 2 + proof | Remy, country not stated | Next day; ships 7 days a week |
| Remi Cachet | UK brand, processes in China | Stockton-on-Tees | Pro stylists, no minimum spend | Ethically sourced, country not stated | Next day (4pm cut-off) |
| Great Lengths UK & Ireland | Italian brand, direct UK operation | UK & Ireland | Certification required | India, traceable | Via UK operation |
| Halo Hair Extensions | UK halo specialist, retail and trade | West Yorkshire | Verified professionals | Indian Remy | Free next day; UK and Ireland only |
| Bellami | US brand | California; ships from Utah | Licensed stylists | Virgin Remy, country not stated | 2–5 business days from the US |
| Sunny Hair | Brand with B2B portal | US and China | Wholesale from $1,100 | Not stated | 4–7 business days express |
| KaBeiLu (KBL) | Large processing factory | Guangzhou, China | Wholesale and dropshipping | Imported raw material under several origin labels | International express |
| Kalugahair | Russian factory | Moscow, Russia | Minimum order on standard trade orders | Slavic donor hair | DHL |
Sources: each vendor’s own website and Companies House, checked October 2026. KBL and Kalugahair prices come from trade quotes sent to our sales team via WhatsApp (December 2025 and May 2026). Terms change; confirm before you order.
Reading the table honestly. The UK brands win on speed: next-day delivery, no customs paperwork, and in most cases education that helps a salon sell the service. Their trade programmes are built for qualified stylists rather than resellers, and almost none publish a donor country.
Overseas brands and factories ship to the UK in under a week but leave the buyer with import VAT and duty, and two of them do not say where the hair comes from. Factory-direct supply from Vietnam wins on grade control, custom colour and price at volume, and loses on speed and convenience. No vendor wins every column, so match the column to your business.
Who Are the 10 Best Hair Extension Suppliers UK Salons Use in 2026? Pros, Cons and Best For
The best hair vendor in the UK depends on how you sell: Govihair for factory-direct custom colour, Beauty Works or Great Lengths for a recognised salon brand, Remi Cachet for the widest choice of methods with no minimum spend, and Kalugahair for luxury Slavic hair.

1. Govihair — best for factory-direct custom colour and verified-before-payment ordering
Best for: Extension salons that want their own European shade range, wig makers, and brands building a private label.
What we are: A hair factory in Da Nang, Vietnam, selling wholesale only. We make bulk hair, raw weft hair, genius weft, invisible tape-in extensions, keratin and tip extensions, closures, frontals, wigs, women toppers and men toupees.
Strengths: Grades chosen up front and written on the invoice: Double Drawn, Super Double Drawn and Luxury (called Super Premium on some lines). Blonde and platinum shades made from raw donor hair, which takes a strong lift without breaking down. Every order is shown on video on a scale before you pay the balance. Production starts after a 30% deposit. One supplier covers extensions, bundles, closures, frontals, wigs and toppers.
Weaknesses: No UK warehouse, so there is no next-day restock. Bulk hair for Europe starts at 1kg, which is more than a single-salon top-up. The UK buyer is the importer, so import VAT and any duty are paid on arrival. We do not run a certification programme like the UK brands do.
Trade terms: Bulk hair for Europe from 1kg (VIP from 5kg); raw weft from 1kg; combo pricing on wigs from 3 units. Wholesale pricing on request. Prices are ex-works; shipping is quoted per order by destination and weight.
Website: govihair.com
2. YogHair — best for raw hair and fashion colours on one invoice
Best for: Retail brands and hair shops that sell trend shades alongside naturals.
What it is: The sister brand of Govihair: a Vietnamese wholesale supplier with its own colour range, serving buyers in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Africa.
Strengths: 45+ shades, including piano, balayage and ombre, next to natural raw bundles, from one supplier and one invoice. Bundles, closures, frontals, full lace and 360 wigs, ponytails, keratin and tape extensions. Production from a 30% deposit.
Weaknesses: Breadth over depth: with a catalogue this wide, raw single-donor is not the whole business. Colour stock moves fast, so availability in longer lengths is less predictable. No UK warehouse; the UK buyer is the importer.
Trade terms: Wholesale pricing on request. Website: yoghair.com
3. Beauty Works — best for qualified stylists who want a recognised UK brand
Best for: Extension salons that want brand recognition, structured courses and fast UK restocks.
What it is: A UK hair extension brand founded in 2010, selling to consumers and to salons, and stocked by major UK beauty retailers.
Strengths: Habia-approved one-day courses in tape, weft and ring methods. Tiered salon partner rewards, with an account manager after consistent spend. Dispatch seven days a week.
Weaknesses: Trade access needs at least NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing plus proof, so it does not suit resellers. Trade prices are behind a login. The same products sell at retail, so a salon’s resale price competes with the high street. Donor country is not stated.
Trade terms: Free to apply; approval in one to two working days. Website: beautyworks.com
4. Remi Cachet — best for the widest range of methods with no minimum spend
Best for: Stylists who work across several methods and want low-risk trade access.
What it is: A UK brand founded in 2013 in Stockton-on-Tees, trading under Additional Lengths Ltd. It says its hair is processed through long-established factory partnerships in China.
Strengths: Fourteen methods across tips, tapes, wefts and clip-ins, in 60+ shades. Trade discount of up to 40% off RRP with no sign-up fee or minimum spend. Next-day UK delivery with a 4pm cut-off. Academy courses and an online training portal.
Weaknesses: Donor country is not disclosed. “Up to 40%” is a ceiling, not a guaranteed margin. Consumers can buy the same hair directly through its retail arm.
Trade terms: Professional account; international buyers pay their own import duties. Website: remicachet.com
5. Great Lengths UK & Ireland — best for premium salons that sell a certified service
Best for: High-end salons that want a premium consumer brand and a full training system behind the service.
What it is: The UK and Ireland arm of Great Lengths, an Italian brand founded in Rome in 1992. Great Lengths acquired its former UK distributor in July 2026, so the UK business is now directly owned.
Strengths: Traceable hair from India, 100% Remy and double drawn. B Corp certified. Certified salons appear on the brand’s salon locator and get an account manager.
Weaknesses: A closed system: salons must complete paid certification before they can buy, and it is not available for resale or open wholesale. Price points are high.
Trade terms: Certification via virtual one-to-one sessions or two-day courses at UK and Ireland locations. Website: greatlengths.com/en-gb
6. Halo Hair Extensions — best for halo and clip-in specialists
Best for: Salons and stylists who sell halo and clip-in pieces as a retail add-on.
What it is: A UK retailer and wholesaler of halo extensions based in West Yorkshire, trading since 2011.
Strengths: A specialist range of halo pieces, clip-ins, ponytails and tapes in 60+ human hair shades. Indian Remy hair. Free UK next-day delivery. Samples, an account manager and co-branded marketing for trade partners.
Weaknesses: Range centred on halo and clip-in. MOQ and pricing are given only after approval. No formal training found. Ships to the UK and Ireland only.
Trade terms: Open to verified professionals: salon owners, freelance and mobile stylists, educators and academies. Website: halohairextensions.com
7. Bellami — best for stylists who want a big US brand and its weft methods
Best for: Licensed stylists who want Bellami’s weft systems and certification.
What it is: A US brand designed in Los Angeles; orders ship from its distribution centre in Utah.
Strengths: Wide range of weft methods, plus keratin, I-tip, tape-in, clip-in, halo and ponytails. Bellami Academy certification. Ships to the UK in 2–5 business days.
Weaknesses: No UK entity or stockist found, so UK buyers import and pay import costs. Not every product ships internationally. Donor country is not stated.
Trade terms: Professional account for licensed stylists, salon owners and booth renters. Website: bellamihair.com
8. Sunny Hair — best for a published, low wholesale entry point
Best for: Small brands testing a private-label tape and weft range.
What it is: A hair extension brand with a B2B wholesale portal, shipping from warehouses in the US and China.
Strengths: Wholesale from $1,100 per order, with no MOQ on existing colours and 500g on custom colours. Wefts, tapes, tips, micro rings, clip-ins and toppers. Private label available.
Weaknesses: Factory and donor country are not disclosed. No UK stock, and UK duty and VAT handling is not stated. Custom orders take 20–30 business days.
Trade terms: Website: sunnyextensions.com; wholesale portal: sunnyhairpro.com
9. KaBeiLu (KBL) — best for deep ready stock and #613 colour work
Best for: Wig resellers and online brands that need ready stock, dyed shades and dropshipping more than traceable single-donor raw hair.
What it is: A large hair factory in Guangzhou, China. Its website states a 15,000 m² facility, 600+ workers and 50+ tons a month of production. Like most large Chinese factories, it sells bundles under Brazilian, Peruvian, Thai and Southeast Asian labels built on raw material sourced from around the world.
Best sellers: On its own site, KBL tags its Thai Hair bundles as its highest-satisfaction, number-one seller. Other featured lines are Blue Band straight and loose wave bundles, XR Brazilian and XR 613 bundles, XR and Thai HD closures, and 150- and 180-density lace front wigs, including a 613 blonde frontal wig.
Strengths: Scale and stock: deep same-day-ship inventory and a big dropshipping and OEM operation. Reliable #613 bleaching and pre-styled textures. Full price grid quoted by length and texture (see the price snapshot below).
Weaknesses: Not genuine single-donor raw hair with a traceable origin; origin labels describe a texture, not where the hair grew. Pricing sits in the same band as Vietnamese hair, so it is not the cheap option many buyers assume. No UK stock.
Trade terms: Wholesale, OEM and dropshipping. Website: kabeilu.com
10. Kalugahair — best for luxury salons that want fine, cool-toned Slavic hair
Best for: High-end UK salons whose clients want fine, cool-toned European hair and do not buy on price.
What it is: A Moscow-based factory that describes itself as the largest natural hair processing factory in Russia, working with Slavic donor hair.
Main trade lines: Its May 2026 trade catalogue lists five extension lines: Injector Long Tape (30 cm wide), Invisible Tape Ultimate (4 cm), Invisible Mini Tape Ultimate (2.8 cm), Micro Flat Weft (genius weft) and keratin tips (I-tip and U-tip, standard and mini). Its colour chart runs from natural levels 1–24 through designer shades DB2–DB4, 140, D.Olive and D.D.Olive, plus multi-tonal blends such as 3/4+8, 6/8+DB4 and 8/10+20.
Strengths: Single-source Russian donor hair with no silicone coating and the cuticle kept root to tip. Fine, cool European tones that suit ash and beige blonde work.
Weaknesses: Price: roughly $300–$490 per 100g across its lines at 18″–28″, several times Vietnamese pricing (full table below). No true #613 and no vivid fashion shades. Small pack weights (19–50g for tapes) make the per-head cost high. Hard to scale for volume buyers. Standard trade orders carry a $3,000 minimum, shipped by DHL.
Trade terms: Trade prices in USD per pack. Website: kalugahair.com
How Much Do Hair Vendors in UK Charge? 2026 Hair Extension Wholesale Price List per 100g
Most hair vendors in UK keep trade prices behind a login, so the clearest public benchmark is each brand’s retail list price. A salon’s trade price is lower, but the retail price tells you what your own clients can pay elsewhere, and therefore how much margin you have. The tables below are retail list prices, not trade or wholesale prices.

| 26″ | $71.40 | $72.40 | — |
The #613 quote gives two price columns for straight and body wave; the higher one matches the XR 613 line on KBL’s website. A 3kg order was quoted as 30 bundles, so one bundle is 100g. Read with the profile above: these are processed, origin-labelled bundles, not single-donor raw hair.
Kalugahair wholesale price list, Russia (USD)
Source: trade catalogue sent to our sales team by Kalugahair via WhatsApp, May 2026. Regular colours, trade price per pack or per piece. Prices may have changed.
| Length | Micro Flat Weft (genius) | Invisible Tape Ultimate 4 cm (20 tapes) | Invisible Mini Tape 2.8 cm (20 tapes) | Injector Long Tape (1 injector + 1 tape) | Keratin tip (per piece) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12″ | 75g · $155 | 35g · $80 | — | 50g · $120 | 0.6g · $1.20 |
| 14″ | — | — | 19g · $45 | — | — |
| 16″ | 85g · $215 | 40g · $105 | 21g · $60 | 55g · $155 | 0.8g · $1.90 |
| 18″ | 85g · $255 | 40g · $130 | 24g · $80 | 60g · $195 | 0.8g · $2.50 |

| 28″ | 100g · $430 | 50g · $235 | 38g · $155 | 70g · $345 | 1g · $3.90 |
The same prices per 100g. Because the packs are small, compare them by weight:
| Length | Genius weft | Invisible tape 4 cm | Mini tape 2.8 cm | Injector long tape | Keratin tip |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 16″ | $253 | $262 | $286 | $282 | $237 |
| 20″ | $310 | $344 | $352 | $354 | $320 |
| 24″ | $390 | $433 | $403 | $423 | $360 |
| 28″ | $430 | $470 | $408 | $493 | $390 |
Per 100g, Kalugahair tapes cost more than its weft, and a 20″ tape works out at roughly $340–$350 per 100g. That is the price of fine, cool-toned Slavic hair, and it is why Russian hair stays a niche for luxury salons.
How should you compare hair prices between vendors?
- Compare by weight, not by pack. A 20″ Halo tape pack holds 100g; a Sunny tape pack can be 50g or 100g. Divide by grams before you compare.
- Retail is your ceiling. If your client can buy a 20″ halo at £159.99, your installed price has to justify the difference with fitting, colour match and aftercare.
- Factory-direct pricing is quoted per order. Govihair quotes wholesale pricing by length, grade, texture and colour; ask for the full grid with your spec.
Is It Cheaper to Buy Hair from a UK Supplier or Direct from a Factory?
Yes, at the same grade, buying direct from a factory is usually cheaper per 100g, because no importer, brand or retailer margin is added. A UK supplier costs more but delivers next day, with no minimum order and no import paperwork.

Every one of the hair vendors in UK in this guide falls into one of two models. UK suppliers (brands, distributors and retailers) hold stock in the UK and sell it with service attached. Factories, in Vietnam, China or Russia, make the hair and ship it to you. Neither is better in every case; they suit different businesses.
| UK supplier (brand, distributor, retailer) | Direct from a factory | |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery | Next day from UK stock | 3–9 working days plus production time |
| Price per 100g | Higher: includes the importer’s, brand’s and retailer’s margin | Lower at the same grade: no middle layers |
| Minimum order | Usually none, but a trade account often needs a hairdressing qualification | An MOQ by product, for example from 1kg for bulk hair |
| Customisation | Fixed catalogue: set shades, lengths and pack sizes | Custom shades, lengths, grades, textures and your own label |
| Origin and grade | Often “100% Remy” with no donor country or tier | A genuine factory can state origin, donor tier and grade on the invoice |
| Import admin | None: the supplier is the importer | You are the importer: EORI, VAT and duty, customs clearance |
| Returns | Easy UK returns, usually within a set window | Defects handled with photo and video evidence; returning goods abroad is slower |
| Cash flow | Pay per order, small amounts | Deposit up front, balance before shipping; larger orders |
| Training and marketing | Often included: courses, certification, brand recognition | Product knowledge and colour-matching support, but no UK academy |
What are the pros and cons of each?
Buying from a UK supplier. The strengths are speed, no import paperwork, small quantities, easy returns and, with the bigger brands, training and a consumer name your clients recognise. The weaknesses are a higher price per 100g, a fixed catalogue, little or no information on where the hair comes from, and trade rules built for qualified stylists rather than resellers. Several UK brands also sell the same hair to consumers, so your clients can see your cost price.
Buying direct from a factory. The strengths are a lower price at the same grade, custom colour and private label, grade and origin written on the invoice, and room to build your own brand. The weaknesses are lead time, a minimum order, a deposit up front, and the job of importing: you handle customs clearance and pay UK VAT and any duty on arrival.
Who should buy from a UK supplier, and who should buy direct?
| Buy from a UK supplier if you are… | Buy direct from a factory if you are… |
|---|---|
| A stylist or salon that needs hair this week for a booked client | A salon that sells enough hair to order at least 1kg at a time |
| A new business testing demand with a few packs | A hair shop or distributor buying by the kilo |
| A salon that wants a recognised consumer brand and certified training | A brand that needs its own shades, packaging and label |
| A business that is not VAT-registered and does not want to import | A VAT-registered business that can reclaim import VAT |
| Buying fewer than 1kg a month | Buying regularly enough that a lower price per 100g adds up |
Many salons do both. They keep a small amount of UK stock for urgent top-ups and buy their core shades and lengths direct from a factory, which brings down the average cost per head while keeping a safety net for rush jobs.

Vietnamese vs Chinese vs Russian vs Indian Hair: Which Is Best for UK Buyers?
For most UK salons and hair shops, Vietnamese hair is the best all-round choice: genuine raw hair that lifts to #613, in the same price band as Chinese processed hair. Russian hair suits luxury salons, Chinese stock suits fast dyed and #613 lines, and Indian hair is the low-price option for wavy and curly textures.
Very few UK hair vendors make their own hair. Most buy processed hair from Asia, then brand it, colour-match it and sell it with UK service attached. Of the UK brands in this guide, those that name a country point to India, and one says its hair is processed in China.
Several give no country at all. So before you compare brands, it pays to understand the four origins behind them.
| Vietnam | China | Russia / Slavic | India | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sourcing model | Domestic donor hair, collected and manufactured in the same country | Imports raw material, then processes it at industrial scale | Domestic Slavic donor hair, small supply | Mostly temple-donated hair, large supply |
| Genuine raw hair? | Yes: single-donor, 2–3 donor and mixed-donor raw tiers | Rarely; most is processed and sold under origin labels | Yes, minimally processed | Sometimes; much is chemically standardised after collection |
| Strand | Thick, round, strong; naturally straight | Depends on the imported material | Fine, soft, mostly brown, cool-toned | Softer, wavy to curly, darker |
| Lift to #613 / platinum | Yes, on raw donor hair | Yes, it is a core strength (chemical bleaching) | Limited; no true #613 | Riskier; the softer strand can break at high lift |
| Colour range | European salon shades plus custom colour; raw donor hair takes any shade | Widest: vivid, #613, piano and ombre | Natural cool tones and blends only | Mostly natural dark; colour depends on the processor |
| Consistency between orders | High when grade and donor tier are written on the invoice | High on stock lines, but origin is not traceable | High, but supply is small | Varies from batch to batch |
| Price position | Mid: genuine raw at an accessible price | Same band as Vietnam (KBL: $22–$72 per 100g natural, $42–$94 #613) | Luxury: $300–$490 per 100g (Kalugahair) | Lowest sticker price |
| Best for in the UK | Extension salons doing colour work, wig makers, private label | Ready stock, dyed and #613 hair, dropshipping | Luxury salons with clients who do not buy on price | Price-led retail; wavy and curly textures |
| Main limitation | No UK stock; lead time plus import | Not traceable single-donor raw hair | Price and scale | Batch variation and shorter lifespan |
China and Russia prices are from the trade quotes in the price snapshot above. Vietnamese factory pricing is quoted per order by length, grade, texture and colour.
Is Vietnamese hair good for UK salons?
Vietnam is both a collection source and a manufacturer. The hair is collected from donors, sorted, graded and finished in the same country, so a factory can tell you the donor tier and grade of every batch and put it on the invoice. The strand is thick, round and strong. That is why raw donor hair lifts to blonde and platinum without breaking down, and why it holds its condition through repeated washing and styling.

What is Chinese hair best for?
China has little domestic hair donation, so its large factories import raw material from India, Southeast Asia and elsewhere, then process it at scale. Their real strengths are deep stock, fast dispatch, dyeing and #613 bleaching, and the supply chain around the hair: wig caps, lace, adhesives and tools. Origin labels such as Brazilian, Peruvian or Thai usually describe a texture, not where the hair grew. KBL’s December 2025 quote also shows that Chinese bundles are not cheaper than Vietnamese ones of the same length.
Is Russian (Slavic) hair worth the price?
Russian and Slavic hair is fine, soft and naturally cool-toned, which makes it a natural match for northern European clients with fine hair. Supply is small, and the price shows it: Kalugahair’s May 2026 trade catalogue works out at roughly $300–$490 per 100g at 18″–28″. It does not offer true #613 or vivid colours. It suits a small number of luxury salons, not volume buying.
Is Indian hair good quality for extensions?
India supplies a large volume of temple-donated hair with a natural wave, and many UK brands build their “Remy” ranges on it. The strand is softer than Vietnamese hair. A lot of it is chemically standardised after collection to even out texture and colour, which weakens the fibre and makes high lift riskier. It is the low-price option for wavy and curly textures, with more variation from batch to batch.
Why do we recommend Vietnamese hair for most UK salons and hair shops?
- Genuine raw hair, with the tier in writing. Vietnam is the one origin where single-donor and 2–3 donor raw hair is available at wholesale volume, collected and manufactured in the same country.
- It lifts to the shades UK clients ask for. Raw donor hair takes a strong lift to ash, beige and platinum blonde. Russian hair cannot reach a true #613, and Indian hair is riskier at high lift.
- It survives colour work and repeat wear. A thick, strong strand holds up to bleaching, toning and heat styling, so a client’s re-fit lasts and your reorders stay predictable.
- Grade you can check. Double Drawn, Super Double Drawn and Luxury are defined by how much of the hair reaches full length. Ask for the grade on the invoice and you know what the ends will look like before you open the box.
- Raw quality without the luxury price. Vietnamese raw hair sits in the same price band as Chinese processed hair, and at a fraction of the Russian price per 100g.
- One supplier for the full range. Extensions, bundles, closures, frontals, wigs and toppers from one factory, in one shade system.
When Vietnamese hair is not the right choice: if you need hair tomorrow, buy from UK stock. If your clients want fine, cool-toned Slavic hair and price does not matter, Russian hair is a fair choice. If you need vivid fashion colours ready to ship, Chinese stock lines are faster. For a closer look at Vietnamese suppliers, see our guide to the best wholesale raw Vietnamese hair vendors.

How Much Does It Cost to Import Hair into the UK? Shipping, VAT and Duty
Short answer: buying from overseas rather than from hair vendors in UK, you pay for the hair, plus shipping (from about $65 for 1kg to about $370 for 20kg by UPS), plus 20% import VAT, plus any customs duty and the courier’s clearance fee. VAT-registered businesses can usually reclaim the import VAT.
Buying from a UK brand, you pay one price and the hair arrives the next day. Buying from abroad, your real cost is the landed cost:
Landed cost = price of the hair + shipping + customs duty + import VAT + the courier’s clearance fee.
- Customs duty. It depends on the commodity code. Human hair that has been worked, such as bulk hair for wig-making, falls under 6703. Wigs, wefts and hair extensions of human hair fall under 6704 20 00 00. Check the current rate for your code on the UK Trade Tariff. Goods that originate in Vietnam may qualify for a preferential rate under the UK–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement if the shipment carries valid proof of origin.
- Import VAT. Charged at 20% on the value of the goods plus shipping and duty.
- Reclaiming VAT. If your business is VAT-registered, you can usually account for import VAT on your VAT return through postponed VAT accounting and reclaim it on the same return. If VAT is paid at the border instead, the C79 certificate is your evidence for reclaiming it.
- EORI number. You need a GB EORI number to import goods into Great Britain. Moving goods into Northern Ireland also needs an XI EORI.
- Consignments of £135 or less. VAT is handled at the point of sale rather than at the border. If you give the seller a valid UK VAT number, you account for the VAT yourself under the reverse charge.
In practice: a VAT-registered salon or hair shop usually recovers the import VAT, so the real extra cost of importing is shipping, any duty and the courier’s handling fee. A business that is not VAT-registered carries the full 20%. Ask your accountant how this applies to you, and ask the vendor before you pay who will act as importer. With Govihair, you are the importer and handle customs clearance; we provide the commercial invoice and documents proving the origin of the goods.
How much is shipping from Vietnam to the UK by weight?
Hair ships from our factory in Da Nang to the UK by DHL, UPS or FedEx, tracked door to door. The table shows estimated shipping costs to a UK address at each order weight. The exact cost is confirmed per order before you pay, based on your delivery address, the final packed weight and box size, and any fuel or peak-season surcharge at the time.

| Order weight | Typical order | Express: DHL, 3–5 working days | Standard: UPS, 5–7 working days | Economy: UPS or FedEx, 7–9 working days | Usually best value |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.5kg | Sample or test order | about $95 | about $55 | about $60 (FedEx) | Standard |
| 1kg | Trial order, about 10 bundles | about $110 | about $65 | about $70 | Standard |
| 2kg | Small wholesale order | about $140 | about $95 | about $100 | Standard |
| 3kg | First wholesale order | about $170 | about $120 | about $120 | Standard or economy |
| 5kg | Regular salon or shop restock | about $230 | about $170 | about $165 | Economy |
| 10kg | Distributor order | about $350 | about $265 | about $260 | Economy |
| 15kg | Distributor order | about $465 | about $330 | about $320 | Economy |
| 20kg | VIP order | about $545 | about $370 | about $360 | Economy |
| 25–30kg | Large wholesale order | about $625–$720 | On request | On request | Quoted case by case |
Estimated costs in USD, door to door, rounded up to the nearest $5 and updated October 2026. They exclude UK import VAT, customs duty and the courier’s clearance fee.
Three things that change the cost:
- Speed. Express costs noticeably more than the slower services: from around a third more on a 10kg order to roughly three-quarters more on a small 0.5–1kg parcel. If you are not in a rush, economy is the better buy.
- Weight. Courier rates do not rise in a straight line. Per kilo, a 10kg shipment costs less than half as much as a 1kg parcel, and a 20kg shipment less than a third. Consolidating your orders into one larger shipment is the easiest saving available.
- Box size. Hair is light but bulky, and couriers may charge on the size of the box rather than its weight. We pack to keep the box compact.
What paperwork do you need to clear hair through UK customs?
Every Govihair order, whichever payment method you use, comes with an official commercial invoice:
- Official commercial invoice for every payment method, showing our registered company details and every line of your order.
- Sent by email after payment is confirmed, so you have it before the shipment arrives.
- Supports your import documentation and customs clearance, including documents proving the origin of the goods. You handle the import and pay UK import charges; Govihair does not pay them.
- Usable for tax declaration or deduction, subject to UK rules; your accountant uses it to record the purchase and reclaim import VAT.
As customs checks get stricter, complete and accurate paperwork is what keeps an import smooth. A vendor that cannot issue a proper commercial invoice is a vendor you should not import from.
How Do You Order Bulk Human Hair from a Raw Hair Vendor, Step by Step?
The process below is what experienced UK buyers follow with any overseas vendor, including us.

- Define your spec before you message anyone. Product, texture, shade (use the vendor’s colour chart or send a reference photo), length, grade and quantity. A vague enquiry gets a vague quote.
- Shortlist two or three vendors. Use the comparison table above. Never send deposits to several vendors at once.
- Send one clear first message. For example: “Salon in Manchester. Looking for tape-in extensions, raw donor hair, 20″, Super Double Drawn, shades 8C and 613, 1kg total. Please send your full price list by length and grade, your MOQ, production time and delivery time to the UK, and confirm the donor tier in writing.”
- Ask for the full price list, not one number. Genuine factory pricing changes with length, grade, texture and colour. A vendor who gives a single figure and will not show the grid is usually a middleman.
- Order a sample first. Run the checks in the next section before committing to volume.
- Get a sales contract and a commercial invoice by email. The invoice must show the vendor’s registered company name, address and tax ID, and every line of your order. It is also the document your accountant needs for VAT and your accounts.
- Pay only into the company’s official account. Pay the production deposit by bank transfer to the vendor’s registered company account, in the same company name as the invoice, never to a personal account. At Govihair, our official payment accounts are published on our website, so you can check the account details there before you transfer. Production starts after a 30% deposit; never pay 100% upfront on a first order.
- Track production on video. Ask for progress videos and a fanned-out video of the bundle ends, and ask directly whether any curl is natural or steam-set.
- Approve the pre-shipment weigh-in, then pay the balance. See your exact order on a scale before the rest of your money moves.
- Clear UK customs. You are the importer: have your EORI number ready and plan for import VAT, any duty and the courier’s clearance fee. Govihair does not pay UK import charges; we supply the commercial invoice and documents proving the origin of the goods so you can clear them smoothly.
- Inspect on arrival. Film the unboxing, weigh the order, and run the same checks you ran on the sample. If something is wrong, send the vendor photo and video evidence straight away.
- Reorder by lot and grade. Note the grade and order reference of every delivery so your next order matches the last one.

How Can You Tell If a Hair Vendor Is Legit Before You Pay?
Hair vendors in UK and overseas factories can be checked the same way. Verification happens in two stages: paperwork and identity before you pay, then physical tests once the sample arrives.

What should you check before you pay?
- UK vendors: look the company up on Companies House. Check the registered name, the incorporation date and that its status is active. A trading name should map to a real registered company.
- Overseas factories: ask for the business registration certificate and check that the company name matches the invoice and the name on the bank account exactly.
- Live video call: ask to see the production floor, raw stock and a sheet of paper with your business name held next to the hair. Factories have floors to show; middlemen do not.
- Independent reviews: read Google, Trustpilot and salon forums, not the testimonials on the vendor’s own site.
How do you test a hair sample when it arrives?
- Scrape test: scrape a strand lengthwise with a blade. Pure white residue means an intact cuticle; white tinged with yellow means the hair has been bleached or dyed; black residue means synthetic fibre.
- Burn test: human hair burns to grey-white ash that crumbles and smells of singed protein. Hard black beads mean synthetic fibre or silicone coating.
- Cuticle slide test: root to tip should feel smooth, tip to root slightly rough. The same feel both ways points to acid-stripped cuticles.
- Elasticity test: a wet strand should stretch slightly and spring back.
- Bleach lift and wash test: lift a small section to the shade you sell most, then wash and brush the sample several times. Raw hair lifts evenly and stays smooth; processed hair snaps, lifts patchily or mats.
What are the red flags of a fake hair vendor?
| Red flag | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Demands 100% payment upfront | Your money is funding the vendor, and you have no leverage |
| Bank account name differs from the invoice | The clearest fraud signal there is |
| Refuses a live video call | Middleman with no factory |
| “Raw single-donor” at an unusually low price | Processed hair or floor hair |
| No grade on the invoice | Probably single drawn, thinning towards the ends |
| Will not send a contract | No legal entity behind the seller |
What Else Do UK Buyers Ask About Hair Vendors? (FAQs)
These are the questions UK salons, hair shops and online brands ask most often when they compare hair vendors in UK with overseas factories.

About the hair
What is the difference between raw, virgin and Remy hair?
Remy means the cuticles are kept and aligned in one direction; it says nothing about processing or origin. Virgin hair is chemically untreated but may be steam-styled and is usually multi-donor. Raw hair is completely unprocessed, cuticle-aligned and comes in single-donor, 2–3 donor or mixed-donor tiers.
Can the hair be lifted to #613 or platinum?
Only raw donor hair. Our blonde and platinum shades are made from raw donor hair, which takes a strong lift without breaking down. Virgin hair is best for natural and light shades, and dark shades are dyed, not lifted. Colour options depend on the hair type, so confirm it before you order.
Which grade should a UK salon order?
Double Drawn for everyday installs, Super Double Drawn when clients want fuller ends, and Luxury (called Super Premium on some of our lines) for the blunt, full ends premium extension clients expect. Get the grade written on the invoice.
Ordering and payment
What is the minimum order?
At UK brands there is usually no MOQ, but you need a qualifying trade account. At Govihair, bulk hair for Europe starts from 1kg with VIP rates from 5kg, raw weft starts from 1kg, and wigs get combo pricing from 3 units.
Do I need a trade account to buy wholesale hair in the UK?
From most UK brands, yes: a trade account, often with proof of a hairdressing qualification. A factory does not ask for a qualification; it sets a minimum order instead. At Govihair that is from 1kg for bulk hair and raw weft.
Where can salons in London, Birmingham or Manchester buy wholesale hair?
From a UK brand with a trade account for next-day stock, from an international brand that ships into the UK, or direct from a factory. Factory-direct orders go door to door by DHL, UPS or FedEx, so the city makes no difference to price or delivery time.
Can I order a sample before a wholesale order?
Yes. Treat your first order as a test, run the checks above, and only then scale up.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer (T/T) in USD or EUR to our company account, which is published on our website so you can check it before you pay, or card payment via a secure payment link. We never ask you to pay into a personal account. Production begins after a 30% deposit.
Why should I never pay 100% upfront?
Because the deposit-then-verify structure is what protects you. You see your finished order on video before the balance is paid. Any vendor that insists on full payment before production on a first order is asking you to carry all the risk.
Delivery and UK customs
How long does delivery to the UK take?
From our factory in Da Nang: express in 3–5 working days, standard in 5–7 and economy in 7–9, tracked door to door by DHL, UPS or FedEx. Delivery time starts when the order leaves the factory, so add production time on top.
How much is shipping to the UK?
It depends on the weight of your order and the service you choose. Shipping is quoted per order before you pay. Consolidating into one larger order brings the shipping cost per kilo down.
Do I pay import VAT and duty?
Yes. You handle the import and pay any UK charges on arrival; Govihair does not pay import VAT or duty. We supply the commercial invoice and documents proving the origin of the goods to support your customs clearance. Import VAT is 20%, and duty depends on the commodity code. VAT-registered businesses can usually reclaim import VAT through postponed VAT accounting. You need a GB EORI number to import.
Do you deliver to Scotland and Northern Ireland?
Yes. Couriers deliver across the UK. For Northern Ireland, the importer also needs an XI EORI number; check the Northern Ireland guidance on gov.uk for your goods.
After the sale
What if the hair does not match the sample?
Film the unboxing, weigh the order and run the same tests you ran on the sample, then send the evidence to the vendor straight away. A reputable vendor resolves documented issues. If a vendor dismisses documented evidence, do not place another order.
Will my reorder match my first order?
It should, if the grade, shade code and texture are written on both invoices. Keep the order reference of every delivery and quote it when you reorder.
Why Do UK Salons Order Direct from Govihair?

- Your order on video, on a scale, before you pay the balance. You see exactly what you bought before the rest of your money moves.
- A European shade range from raw donor hair. Blonde and platinum shades lift cleanly because they start from raw donor hair.
- Grades chosen up front. Double Drawn, Super Double Drawn or Luxury, written on the invoice.
- From a 30% deposit. Production starts after the deposit; the balance follows verification.
- Colour matching on a video call. Approve the shade before production, not after delivery.
- A contract and commercial invoice on every wholesale order. The paperwork your accountant needs.
- One supplier for the full range. Extensions, bundles, closures, frontals, wigs, women toppers and men toupees.
- Tracked delivery to the UK. DHL, UPS or FedEx, express in 3–5 working days.
How Do You Get a Quote from Govihair?
Choosing between hair vendors in UK comes down to speed versus control. If you need hair this week, a UK brand with local stock is the right call. If you buy by the kilo and want your own grade, shades and label, Govihair makes raw Vietnamese hair in our own factory in Da Nang, Vietnam, shows you your order on video before you pay the balance, and ships it tracked to any UK address.

Send us your spec (product, texture, shade, length, grade and quantity) and you will receive a written quotation, a production timeline and a delivery estimate to your UK address.
