Wholesale Feather Weft Hair Extensions From Vietnam

Feather weft hair extensions are ultra-light wefts of raw Vietnamese hair. Our craftsmen hand-weave small “feathers” of hair onto a thin cotton string, so the weft lies flat and feels almost weightless. Choose the 9D line for the lightest bond, or the Classic line for a hand-woven bond that practically never sheds. Build your spec below and send it in one tap.

9D or Classic: Pick Your Bond

Both lines use the same raw hair and the same cotton string, and both cost the same. The difference is the bond.

Lightest

9D feather weft

A very light bond, so the weft is extremely flat and the client barely feels it. The trade-off is shedding: a 9D weft releases more strands over time than a Classic weft.

  • The lightest bond we make
  • 6-month shedding warranty
  • After that, a salon can upgrade the bonds with keratin glue at 170-180°C

Best for: First-time feather weft clients, shorter-term wear and trial orders.

Best seller

Hand-woven

Classic feather weft

Each bond is woven by hand, not glued, so it practically never sheds. That is why Classic is the line salons reorder most in every market we ship to.

  • Bond practically never sheds
  • About 2 g of hair per bond, 40 to 50 bonds per line
  • Smaller bonds on request for fine hair

Best for: Premium salons, fine hair and buyers who reorder on a schedule.

Three Hair Grades and How to Pick

Grade tells you how much of the hair reaches full length. On a feather weft, thin ends show straight away.

Entry

Double Drawn

Short strands removed, standard fullness. We make it only in black and a few dark shades.

  • $15 per 100 g less than Super
  • Good for budget orders in dark shades

Best for: Budget orders in natural black.

Our sales team recommends

Standard

Super

About 80% of strands run the same length, with no strand under 12 inches. The prices in our retail list below are for this grade.

  • Thicker ends that hold colour and curl
  • Available in every colour group
  • The safest default for most salons

Best for: Most salon installs.

Premium

Luxury

About 90% of strands run the same length, with no strand under 14 inches. The fullest, most even ends we make.

  • $15 per 100 g more than Super
  • Best for long lengths and blondes

Best for: Premium salons and long installs.

Are Feather Wefts Right for Your Salon?

Order feather wefts if

  • Your clients have fine or thinning hair
  • Your clients find tape-ins too visible or sewn wefts too heavy
  • Your stylists are trained in weft or bead installs
  • You can plan orders 12 to 14 days ahead

Order something else if

  • You need hair in hand tomorrow (both lines are made to order)
  • Your clients want to install at home
  • You want strand-by-strand placement (see our H6 feather hair)
  • Your clients have very thick, heavy hair (a machine weft may suit better)

Four Tests to Run on Your Sample

Order 500 g of feather weft hair extensions first and check it before you scale up. These are the same checks our team runs on every order.

  • Bond test: hold the string and pull a few strands gently near a bond. A Classic bond should hold every strand. A 9D bond may release a few, which is normal for that line.
  • Comb test: comb from the ends up, wet and dry. Raw hair with the cuticle intact should not tangle or mat.
  • Burn test: burn two or three strands. Human hair turns to grey ash; synthetic or silicone-coated hair melts into hard beads.
  • Weight test: weigh each bundle on arrival and compare it with the video of your order on the scale that we sent before shipping.

Questions Every Feather Weft Supplier Should Answer

Ask these before you pay. A real factory answers all of them clearly.

  • Is the hair raw, with no steaming and no chemicals?
  • Are the bonds woven by hand, and which line is it: 9D or Classic?
  • What shedding warranty do you give?
  • How long is the string per 100 g, and which hair length is it made for?
  • How many days of production before shipping?
  • Will you show my order on a scale before I pay the balance?
  • Is payment only to your registered company account?

Feather Weft Hair Extensions FAQs

What are feather weft hair extensions?

They are a lightweight weft made of small bunches of human hair, hand-woven onto a thin cotton string. They lie flatter and feel lighter than a machine weft, so they suit fine or thin hair.

What is the difference between 9D and Classic feather weft?

The bond. The 9D bond is very light but sheds more easily. The Classic bond is hand-woven, practically never sheds and can be made smaller on request. Both cost the same and take 12 to 14 days to make. Classic is our best seller.

Do feather weft hair extensions shed?

It depends on the line. Our Classic feather weft practically never sheds. The 9D line has a lighter bond, so it releases more strands over time and needs gentle brushing.

How long do feather weft hair extensions last?

The hair lasts around 2 to 5 years with good care, depending on the hair quality. The Classic bond practically never sheds. The 9D bond has a 6-month shedding warranty, then a salon can upgrade it with keratin glue at 170-180°C.

Are feather weft extensions good for fine or thin hair?

Yes. They are one of the lightest weft options. For very fine hair, we suggest the Classic line with smaller bonds, so nothing shows near the hairline or parting.

How do I pay safely for a wholesale feather weft order?

Pay a 30% deposit by bank transfer (T/T) in USD or EUR to our company account, or by card through a secure payment link. We never ask you to pay into a personal account. Before you pay the balance, you see your finished feather wefts on video, on a scale.

Do you ship feather wefts to Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Germany and the UK?

Yes. Israel is our biggest feather weft market, and delivery there usually takes 7 to 10 days. We ship by DHL, UPS or FedEx with tracking, and quote shipping per order.

Can feather weft hair be coloured or bleached?

Yes. It is raw Vietnamese hair with an intact cuticle, so it takes colour evenly. A skilled colourist can lift it to light blonde.

What Are Feather Weft Hair Extensions?

Quick answer: Feather weft hair extensions are a lightweight weft. Small bunches of human hair are hand-woven onto a thin cotton string instead of being sewn into a thick track. The weft sits flatter and lighter than a machine weft, blends into fine hair, and lets the stylist add volume exactly where it is needed.

Salons usually choose feather weft extensions when a client wants real volume and length but finds tape-ins too visible or a sewn weft too heavy. Each “feather” is a separate bunch of hair, so the weft bends with the head instead of sitting on it like a ridge. That is why it suits clients with fine or thinning hair so well.

You may also see this product sold as feather line hair extensions. It is the same idea: hair fixed in small bunches along one line.

Israel is our biggest market for feather weft hair extensions. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom follow. Most of our buyers are salons, stylists and hair vendors. Everything on this page comes from our own production floor and from what our sales team tells buyers every day.

Anatomy of a Feather Weft: Hair, Bond and String

All feather weft hair extensions have three parts. Knowing them makes it much easier to compare suppliers:

  • The hair. We use raw Vietnamese hair. The cuticle is intact and aligned from root to tip, so the weft can be coloured, curled and reused.
  • The bond. This is the small joint that holds each bunch of hair. Our experienced craftsmen weave every bond by hand, not by machine. The bond decides how light the weft feels and how well it holds the hair. It is also the real difference between our 9D and Classic lines.
  • The string. A thin cotton thread carries all the bonds. Its length sets how wide the weft is, measured per bundle of about 100 g. The longer the hair, the shorter the string, so every bundle stays at a comfortable weight.

Feather Weft Hair Extensions Pros and Cons: Are They Good?

For the right client, yes. Here is a balanced view before you add feather weft hair extensions to your service menu:

ProsCons
Lightest and flattest weft option, comfortable on fine hairNeeds a trained stylist to install and refit
Blends invisibly, even when the hair is worn up9D bonds shed more easily than Classic bonds
Stylist can add volume exactly where it is neededBoth lines are made to order, so allow 12-14 days
Raw hair can be coloured, curled and reusedBonds need careful washing and drying

Our verdict: feather weft hair extensions are one of the best options for clients with fine or thinning hair who want volume without weight. Most of the cons come down to choosing the right line and the right care routine. The rest of this guide covers both.

9D vs Classic: Our Two Feather Weft Lines

From the outside, our two lines of feather weft hair extensions look almost the same. Both use the same raw hair, the same cotton string and the same flat finish. The difference is the bond. The 9D bond is built to be as light as possible. The Classic bond is built to hold every strand for the life of the hair.

Neither line is “better” in every case. That is why we make both, and why they are priced the same.

9D Feather Weft: The Lightest Bond

The 9D feather weft uses a very light bond. The weft is extremely flat, and the client barely feels it after installation. We suggest it when comfort and natural movement matter most.

The honest trade-off is shedding. Because the bond is so light, a 9D weft releases more strands over time than a Classic weft. It is still a good product, but it needs gentle brushing, careful washing and a client who knows what to expect.

  • Strengths: lightest bond we make, very flat, comfortable from day one.
  • Weakness: sheds more easily than the Classic line.
  • Good for: first-time feather weft clients, shorter-term wear and trial orders.

Every order of 9D feather weft hair extensions comes with a 6-month shedding warranty. After that, the client does not need a new weft. A salon can upgrade the 9D bonds with keratin glue at 170-180°C, and the client keeps wearing the same hair.

We do not keep large stock of the 9D line. Most orders are made in 12 to 14 days, the same as Classic.

Classic Feather Weft: A Hand-Woven Bond That Practically Never Sheds

The Classic feather weft is made the traditional way. Each bond is woven by hand, not glued. In our experience, this bond practically never sheds. That matters when a salon’s reputation depends on every reinstall.

A standard Classic bond holds about 2 g of hair, with 40 to 50 bonds on each line. Because every weft is made by hand, we can also make the bond smaller on request. A smaller bond lets the stylist work close to the hairline or the parting on very fine hair, with nothing showing.

Weaving each bond by hand is slow, careful work and takes the most time in our production. Classic wefts are made to order in 12 to 14 days, so plan your orders ahead of your busy season.

  • Strengths: bond practically never sheds, bond size can be customised, built for long wear and repeat installs.
  • Weakness: made to order only (12 to 14 days), no ready stock.
  • Good for: premium salons, clients with fine hair, buyers who reorder on a schedule.

Which Feather Weft Should You Choose?

Choose the line by what your clients complain about. Price is not the deciding factor, because both lines cost the same. This is the guide our sales team uses with buyers of feather weft hair extensions on WhatsApp:

A first trial order to test feather wefts in your market9DA simple way to learn what your clients like

Govihair sales tip: If your clients come back every few months and judge you on shedding, choose Classic and order before your busy season. If you want to test the market or offer the lightest feel, start with 9D. Tell your client to brush gently from the ends up.

In Israel, the Gulf, the US, Germany and the UK, buyers of feather weft hair extensions prefer Classic and reorder it most. 9D is usually a second line for clients who put lightness first.

Buying Guide: How to Choose Feather Weft Extensions

Before you order feather weft hair extensions, decide five things: the hair, the grade, the colours, the string length and the quantity. Here is how our sales team helps buyers choose.

Step 1: Choose Raw Vietnamese Hair

We recommend raw hair for all human hair feather weft extensions. Raw means 100% unprocessed: no chemicals, no steaming, and the cuticle intact and aligned from root to tip. Our hair comes from donors in the Northern Vietnamese highlands who keep their hair long and uncoloured.

Raw hair matters even more on a feather weft than on a bundle, because each small bunch moves freely. Hair with an intact cuticle tangles less and takes colour evenly. It can also be lifted to light blonde without snapping.

Depending on the hair quality, raw Vietnamese hair lasts around 2 to 5 years with proper care. That means one good Vietnamese feather weft can be reinstalled several times.

Step 2: Choose Super or Luxury Grade

Grade tells you how much of the hair reaches the full length. On a feather weft, thin ends show straight away. That is why we advise salons and wholesale buyers to choose Super or Luxury.

“For salon owners and wholesale buyers: we advise choosing SUPER or LUXURY quality. The thicker ends hold bleach, colour and curl far better, and the hair stays wearable much longer. Your clients come back sooner, and your margin is protected on every reorder.” (Govihair sales team)

Grade is priced per 100 g. Super adds $15 and Luxury adds $30 to the Double Drawn price. We make Double Drawn feather wefts only in black and a few dark shades. For light and blonde colours, we make Super or Luxury.

Step 3: Pick Your Colours

Our best-selling feather weft hair colours are #1, #1B, #2, #3, #22 and #613. Light and bleached shades are available in both the 9D and Classic lines.

Colours fall into three groups. The group affects the price:

  • Dark colours (dyed, no bleaching): #1, #1B, #2, #4 and similar shades.
  • Light colours (neutral bleaching): light browns, golden and ash tones, balayage mixes.
  • Blonde and white colours (strong lift): #60, #613, platinum, ash blonde and similar.

Feather weft hair extensions in dark, light and blonde shades, all made from raw Vietnamese hair.

Most buyers order straight feather weft hair extensions. Bone straight, silky straight and wavy textures are also available for $6 more per 100 g.

Step 4: Match the String Length to the Hair Length

We make the feather weft string in three lengths, measured per bundle of about 100 g. The rule is simple: the longer the hair, the shorter the string. Long hair is heavier per centimetre, so a shorter string keeps each bundle light and comfortable.

Use the string length table above to match each string to the hair length you order.

Step 5: Decide How Much to Order

Our minimum order for feather weft hair extensions is 500 g. For the best price, we recommend ordering from 1 kg. Your 1 kg can mix lines, lengths and colours, so you can test 9D and Classic with your clients in one order.

As a guide, a full head usually takes 250 to 300 g of feather weft. The exact amount depends on the client’s own hair and the volume she wants.

Installation and Care Tips

Feather weft hair extensions should be installed by a trained stylist. The bonds sit close to the scalp, so tension and placement matter more than with a sewn weft. Good aftercare is what makes feather weft hair extensions last.

Close-up of hand-woven feather weft bonds and a finished blonde feather weft install
Left: hand-woven bonds on a thin cotton string. Right: the finished look once the wefts are installed.

Care tips to share with your clients:

  • Brush from the ends upwards with a soft brush. Hold the hair just below the bonds. This matters most on 9D wefts.
  • Use a sulphate-free shampoo. Keep conditioner and oils off the bonds.
  • Dry the bond area completely after every wash. Never sleep on wet bonds.
  • Tie the hair in a loose braid at night to reduce friction at the bonds.
  • Reuse the hair. Raw Vietnamese hair outlasts the bond, so a good feather weft can be reinstalled several times.

How Much Do Feather Weft Hair Extensions Cost?

Retail feather weft hair extensions at Govihair start at $122.90 per 100 g for 16 inch Super grade natural black. Light blonde in 30 inch is our highest retail price, at $226.90 per 100 g. The full table is in the price list above.

The 9D and Classic lines cost the same, and so does our H6 feather hair. Luxury grade adds $15 per 100 g. Bone straight, silky straight or wavy texture adds $6 per 100 g. Orders from 1 kg get our wholesale price.
