Why Is Machine Weft the Most Durable Weft Type?

Machine weft is sewn along a thick, reinforced seam that packs more hair into each row than a hand-tied weft. That extra stitching is what makes it the hardest-wearing weft type we make – it holds up to bleaching, coloring, heat styling, and repeated re-installs without the seam coming loose.

To be fair to buyers comparing options: that same reinforced seam is also thicker and slightly heavier at the root than a hand-tied weft, so it’s not the flattest or most undetectable choice for very fine or thin natural hair – it’s built for durability and value, not the lowest-profile install. Our machine wefts are made in-house at our own factory in Bac Ninh, Vietnam – we don’t outsource this step. Hair is aligned root-to-tip, then run through industrial sewing machines that lock it onto a double-row seam, giving us direct control over seam quality rather than relying on an outside supplier. Machine weft has a thicker, heavier seam than hand-tied weft, so it can feel slightly bulkier at the root and isn’t the most invisible option for very fine or thin hair. Correct tension at install matters more than with lighter weft types – we recommend professional installation and normal re-tightening to avoid unnecessary pulling on natural hair.

Is machine weft raw or processed hair?

Our machine weft is virgin hair – collected from multiple donors, never chemically processed, but re-sorted by cuticle direction (unlike our raw bundles, which come from a single donor and are sold exactly as collected). With proper care, virgin hair typically lasts 1–2 years.

How long do machine weft extensions last?

As virgin hair, machine weft typically lasts 1–2 years with proper care – shorter than our raw bundles (2–5 years), since virgin hair has already been processed once during sorting before it reaches you.

Do you produce machine weft in-house, or outsource it?

In-house, at our own factory in Bac Ninh, Vietnam – we don’t outsource this step.

How long does production take before shipping?

For in-stock lengths and colors: 2–3 days production plus 3–5 days shipping to the US. For custom machine weft orders (custom colors, textures, or lengths), production takes 7–9 days, with 7–9 days shipping to the US.

Can machine weft hair extensions be bleached or dyed?

Yes – as virgin hair, it can be safely colored up to medium-lift fashion shades (our catalog’s light-color range, roughly equivalent to #27/#30/#8). Lifting it all the way to platinum blonde is possible but less stable than with our raw hair line, since virgin hair has already been through one round of processing.
