What is a 6×6 closure?

A 6×6 closure is a square lace piece measuring six inches across and six inches deep, sewn or glued at the top of a sew-in or a closure wig to cover the leave-out area. It gives two inches more parting space than a 4×4 and one inch more than a 5×5, so the client can wear a deep middle part, a side part or a free part without lifting the lace. On this piece the hair is raw Vietnamese donor hair set to a soft body wave, and the colour is the donor’s own natural black, #1B.

HD lace is thinner and finer than standard transparent lace. It sits flat on the scalp instead of showing as a film, which is what clients notice first in a close-up photo. That is why the 6×6 closure has become the default size for closure wigs and full sew-ins that need to look like a frontal without the extra install time.

Closure sizes, and how to pick

Every Govihair closure is knotted on the same HD lace and checked on the same floor. The size decides how much parting space your stylist has, and the gram weight tells you how full the piece is. A heavier closure is a denser closure, which is why we quote closures by finished weight and not only by lace size.
